In addition to our principle assignments as Aquaculture Extension Agents, we adopted secondary projects in which people in the community requested assistance. These included small animal husbandry and public health issues.

One very effective teaching tool is using educational songs (animations) to introduce and reinforce new ideas. Here Tina is working with a women's group where she taught aspects of reproductive health and diet.

Once farmers have adopted the concepts of fish farming it is an easy and logical transition to other forms of husbandry. Pigs, chickens and rabbits are very appropriate in that with minimal resources, farmers can quickly see the benefit from the investment of time and money they have made. Bob worked with several of the more advanced farmers on these secondary projects, introducing an improved breed of swine.
